||Ogilvy & Mather Paris
The recent arrival of Netflix in France with a large catalogue of films and series, was the opportunity for the Parisian agency Ogilvy & Mather
to organize, with the collective We Love Art, an extraordinary festival. 15 atypical locations around Paris have been transformed into genre film sets, in order to screen films and series in an immersive environment.
Ogilvy's creative teams consulted us to create a promotional trailer for this festival.
Everyone knows Netflix’s graphic identity and its animated design of red, black and white stacks ; the brand is also known to be very strict regarding its own guidelines. We had to find a way of expression that gives us enough freedom, while remaining very faithful to Netflix’s guidelines.
Therefore, we attempted to illustrate figuratively the various cinematographic genres, different formats (films, series, documentaries), as well as information about the festival. So we adapted this principle of stacked and animated cards, allowing only fanciful angles. Allied to simple typographic lines in Gotham, we were able to create many compositions in rigorous compliance with the Netflix guidelines.
On the left, the category "Romance" illustrated as a rose; on the right, an infinite spiral, made only with sliding stacks.
